Affiliate & Advertising Disclosure
Every way this site earns money, in plain English.
1. The short version
The JUMI Colour Generator is completely free to use. It stays free because the site earns money in two ways: display advertising and affiliate links. If you click an affiliate link and buy something, we may earn a commission. It never changes what the tool does, and it never changes what your palettes cost you (nothing).
2. Why this page exists
UK law and advertising rules, including the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 and the CAP Code enforced by the Advertising Standards Authority, require commercial relationships to be transparent: you should always be able to tell when something is an ad and when a link earns us money. We agree with that. This page is our plain-English account of every way this site earns revenue.
If we add new revenue streams in future (for example, design-tool partnerships or premium features), we will update this page before they go live, and update the version number and effective date above.
3. Advertising on this site
We show display advertising served through Google AdSense. Ad slots are visually distinct from the tool and are labelled as ads by Google's standard ad markers.
Current status: advertising is not being served on this site at present. This section describes how it works when it is switched on.
Two things worth knowing:
- Advertisers do not choose us and we do not choose them. Ads are placed programmatically by Google. An ad appearing on our site is not our endorsement of the product advertised.
- You control personalisation. Whether ads are personalised to your interests depends on the choices you make in our cookie banner. Rejecting advertising cookies means you see non-personalised ads instead. See our Cookie Policy.
4. Affiliate links
Some links on this site may be affiliate links. When you click one and make a purchase from the partner, the partner pays us a commission.
Our commitments:
- No extra cost to you. Commission comes out of the partner's margin; it should never be added to your price.
- Clear labelling. Affiliate links and content containing them are identified, for example with wording such as "affiliate link" or a clearly displayed notice on the page where they appear.
- Relevance. We link only to products and services relevant to designers and front-end developers — design software, hosting, page builders, learning resources and creative tools.
- Attribution uses cookies. Affiliate tracking only operates if you consent to advertising and affiliate cookies in our cookie banner.
5. How we stay independent
Earning a commission does not buy an opinion. Where we describe, recommend or compare partner products in our guides or on the blog, we say what we actually think, and the existence of a commission never determines what we say. If a page contains editorial content about a product we have an affiliate relationship with, that relationship is disclosed on that page, not just here.
We do not accept payment for disguising ads as independent content, and we do not publish advertorial without labelling it as such.
6. Your choices
- Manage advertising and affiliate cookies any time via Cookie settings in the site footer.
- Manage Google ad personalisation at myadcenter.google.com.
- Prefer not to use affiliate links? You can always navigate to a partner's site directly instead of clicking our link. The tool works identically either way.
